Victoria + Wes

I absolutely LOVE Wes & Victoria. I have known Wes for years and when he introduced me to Victoria I was thrilled to have a new friend. Wes and I have worked together for years in the wedding industry. It is so much fun when you can work with amazing partners and continue to recommend them. What is even better? Becoming friends and having the honor of capturing their wedding day.

Thank you, Wes and Victoria for your friendship and trusting me to capture your big day!

I had the honor of working with an amazing team of vendors for Wes and Victoria’s wedding. See the full list below and their work represented throughout the photos.

Paper Goods - Prim & Pixie

Victoria got ready in the River Bottoms Ranch bridal suite. Wes got ready at a nearby Airbnb. Both locations had gorgeous natural light! The paper details from Prim & Pixie picked up on the natural elements of the venue location. Utah was definitely showing up on their wedding day!

First looks are the sweetest! I loved that Victoria and Wes had cards to read to each other. It was a super sweet moment and was a great example of how you can make the first look moment special to the two of you.

I love when my couples choose to do formal photos before the ceremony. This is absolutely a personal choice, but when couples do this they get to the party sooner and enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests!

The stairway in the River Bottoms Ranch venue offered a gorgeous location for formals. The hanging greenery and florals tied in the details perfectly!

Talk about making an entrance! Victoria absolutely rocked that dress.

Getting photos of the ceremony space before anyone has entered is always on my list of shots for the day. My couples typically spend months or years planning all the details. On the day of, everything rushes by so quickly that you might not have a chance to take in how all those details came together. These detail shots are for you to look back on, and end up being great for your fabulous vendor teams to use to promote their talents!

Can we all agree that taking a shot during your ceremony is pretty badass? I think so too!

The ceremony is the time  that you are going to be happy you have two photographers at your wedding. One to capture photos of the two of you walking down the aisle and your wedding party. The second shooter is there to capture the audience reactions and emotions you are not seeing. You definitely want to look back at those tears and laughter!

Victoria graduated from Stanford and was able to have that represented during the cocktail hour. Lean on your planner or venue to try and have local food and beverage represented. If you are having a destination wedding, this is a great opportunity to give your guests the local favorites. Many times for destination weddings the guests might not have the opportunity to explore the city and it is all the more special when you can bring it to them as part of your wedding day.

Having the couple sneak into the reception area before everyone else is an incredibly special moment. Take this time to breathe and focus on each other and the details around you that were so meticulously planned. You’re married and now you get to party the night away with your family and friends!

When I help my couples plan their wedding day timelines, I always look at the sunset time for that day and schedule about 15 minutes to sneak off for a few more couples photos. I know that we already did the formals earlier, but the lighting around sunset is just something else.

Dance floor photos are always a favorite of mine. Everyone is letting loose and having the time of their lives. I have said it before and will say it again; I will be on that dance floor with you and have that camera in hand to get those candid, happy moments.
